As a music fan, I’d say I listen to almost every kind of music there is. I’m down to listen to new styles, genres, and usually have a pretty open mind when I go into it. Having said that, my two favorite genres happen to be Electronic and Indie. These genres are extremely broad when you first say them. They can be completely opposite and they can combine at times to create magic. One of my favorite Indie bands is The xx. Hailing from the UK, they consist of three members, two being vocalists and the third being Jamie xx, their beat producer. The first album which was self entitled xx, is one of my favorite of all time. Every song is a masterpiece. They infuse a soft electronic/minimal beat progression with bone chilling male and female vocals. Their sophomore album is set to be released in September and I for one can say I can’t wait. Here is their first single off their new album which my friend filled me in about and its called Angels. Just Romy on the vocals for this track, but it’s seriously great. Just what I want from a new xx track. If you want soothing, gorgeous mellow, indie music then have a listen!
