GLOWfest Artist Spotlight: Krewella

Krewella is the Chicago bred electronic dance music trio comprised of the sisters Jahan & Yasmine Yousaf and producer Kris Trindl a.k.a. Rain Man. The Yousaf sisters have some of the two most incredible voices I’ve heard mixed in with dubstep, which I’m extremely excited to hear live. This trio really grew to prominence in 2012 when their songs “One Minute” and “Strobelights” took over virally and cast them into the limelight. Krewella has performed at Global Dance Festival at Redrocks, Marquee in Las Vegas, Veld Festival in Ontario, and Electric Zoo in New York City.

I decided to compile some tracks that are must hears before checking Krewella out:

  1. “Killin It” –  Play Hard EP: This song has a hard hitting dubstep meets drumstep building up complimented by incredible vocals leading into an electro bass heavy drop that will have the entire crowd raging
  2. “One Minute”Play Hard EP: Definitely a lighter song then what you would expect, with beautiful vocals. Probably one of the first songs I’ve ever heard from Krewella, a must hear before seeing them live.
  3. “Can’t Control Myself” - Play Hard EP: Man, do I love some good moobahton and boy does this track deliver in that department. Just the bouncy feel of the song will have everyone who listens bobbing their head to the beat constantly

Check out these tracks and the rest of the Play Hard EP below and purchase it off Beatport! Don’t miss Krewella at GLOWfest in Morgantown, WV on September 28th!
