GLOWfest Artist Spotlight: Paper Diamond

Before GLOWfest begins, CatchMyBass wanted to give you guys a low down on the artists that will be entering into Morgantown to tear up the stage and have us dancing into the night. Our first artist spotlight is Colorado-native, Alex Botwin a.k.a. Paper Diamond whose beat driven tracks and gripping basslines are sure to have leave the audience shaking. Masterfully combining these beats with his spacey synth sound, sweet melodies, and catchy vocals, Paper Diamond is about to show GLOWfest a whole new level of electro sound. Originally signed with Pretty Lights Music, Pretty Light’s frontman Derek Vincent Smith’s record label, he’s recently signed on with Mad Decent (Diplo’s record label) as well as pioneering his own record label, design shop and clothing line called Elm & Oak. Some tracks I recommend listening to if you’re not familiar with Paper Diamond are as follows:

  1. “Climax” – (prod. by Diplo) [Paper Diamond Remix] – I’ve been a huge fan of Diplo forever, one of the best technical DJ’s in the game, so when I heard this Paper Diamond edit of his song, Climax, I had some high expectations. Well, I was truly blown away. From the funky scratch, the snare drumline, and the synth build feed into an incredible moombahton track that anyone would love
  2. “Same Old Song” – The Weeknd [Paper Diamond Remix] – not often do you hear artists like The Weeknd remixed in tracks, but this song has the kind of dirty funk of any R&B song and I couldn’t like it anymore. A driving electro line with these vocals can vibe with just about anyone.

Check out these tracks below as well as download them for free! Don’t miss seeing Paper Diamond take the stage in Morgantown, WV on September 28th!
