So i don’t know about y’all, but i’ve been feeling incredibly nostalgic lately. I graduate in less than two weeks, ready to begin a new part of my life and I know some of you guys are right there with me. Radical Something has always been able to put out track that are perfect to just chill out and cruise to with the windows down, this track is no exception. It has such a feel-good vibe to it as most of their tracks do. Singing about the good old days when life was carefree and things were just plain easy. Definitely a solid grad send-off song. Be sure to peep it and support these guys, they’ve got a real talent and i’d love to see them get the recognition they deserve.

From Across The Pond – The 1975
So I happened to be checking the top 40 list on mtv.uk and happened to come across this band. Not only is Chocolate the most infectious song I’ve heard in the past month, but the rest of the bands tracks are really good as well. With a sort of funky alternative vibe, the boys from Manchester have definitely found the formula for penetrating the radio waves both in the UK and stateside. Kind of off topic, but I actually heard this track the other day in my college dining hall and it made my day.
Along with checking out chocolate, you guys also need to hear the Ryan Hemsworth edit of Sex. Hemsworth adds a cool ethereal sounding piano part on top of the track. This takes it to a whole new level and makes me picture it as something you would relax and smoke to after a long night at the club.
Make sure you keep an eye out on the band because their new album drops soon!
Fall Out Boy – My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up)
Yes FOB, the band that pretty much wrote the soundtrack to my teen years is back and my how far they’ve come. After a bit of a hiatus they’ve announced an upcoming album and dropped this song on us. It’s very different from they’re old sound, but i’m not gonna lie i’m digging the massive sound it takes on. I’m amped to see where they go from here. Oh yeah and did I mention none other than 2 CHAINZ is featured in this video?! Madness. I love it.
Matisyahu – Spark Seeker: The Acoustic Sessions EP
Matisyahu is back with the acoustic session of his latest album “Spark Seeker”. Essentially a much more chilled out version with a much more intimate feel. The raw feel of these tracks have an incredible relaxing effect. I have a feeling this is going to be one of my favorite EP’s coming out during the winter months. Definitely grab this when it drops tomorrow.
RMcSpedon’s TOP 5 Tracks of 2012

2012 has been unbelievable year for music. WIth the EDM scene exploding here in America and superstars of all genres getting recognition it has been a great year all around. Now CMB is big on the EDM side of music and I, myself as a writer for the site, am a huge fan of EDM so my top 5 originally was just going to be just EDM tracks but I wanted to choose songs that pertained to memorable moments of my life in 2012 not just song I like. These tracks are really not in order of one being better then the other, just as a whole these 5 songs were memorable to 2012 for me. So without further a due here is my, RMcSpedon’s, personal top 5 tracks of 2012.
5. “Drunk” – Ed Sheeran
Before I even say anything else, if you haven’t got your hands on his album “+” yet you better check it out because every song off his first album ever is amazing. Most people know his song “A Team” but thats not my top song off his album. This song “Drunk” definitely was played on a lot at the end of a drunk night this year for me. Ed Sheeran’s lyrics are so relatable and I can literally listen to his whole album straight through any day.
4. “MOTA” - Flosstradamus
This track is fire! When Floss came out with his EP I fell in love with this track. Saw them this summer at Mad Decent Block Party and they know how to get the place going. The reason why I put this on my top 5 is because this track got me obsessed with Trap music. You can’t tell me when you hear this track it doesn’t make you wanna break out dancing.
3. “Take a Walk” – Passion Pit
Made In America Festival, that is all I think about when I hear this song. Passion Pit played in Philly at Made in America and literally had everyone frolicking around the Ben Franklin Parkway. One of my happiest moments of 2012 without a doubt. Any song of their new album “Gossamer” is great.
2. “Sovereign Light Café” (Afrojack Remix) – Keane
Again, MADE IN AMERICA is all i think when I hear this track. I know this just was recently release, however Afrojack dropped this at the DJ tent at Made In America and without a doubt I have to say his set was probably the best set I have heard this entire year. I had my doubts about Afrojack before, but after seeing him perform he is unbelievably talented. Another happy moment of 2012 that I will never forget.
1. “Clarity” – Zedd
Zedd blew up this year when he dropped his album “Clarity” and his song named after the album title blew me away. The vocals by Foxes give me the chills and the lyrics bring so much memories of 2012 to mind, lots of good memories and some bad. Regardless love this song and will always remind me of 2012.
Seven Lions: Days To Come Remixes- Feature Cuts, Coyote Kisses, Solar Shock (Beatport Contest)
I truly believe that Seven Lions is currently one of the top producers under the umbrella of “EDM” or dance music or whatever you want to call it. His fusion of heavy bass with melodic trance type melodies is a step forward towards a unique genre. He is honestly unmatched. Seven Lions recently announced a remix contest from his track “Days To Come” which is off of his latest EP. Check out the original song here, some of the remixes and vote for your favorite ones!
