This is some straight naaaasty moombahton over an already track from Passion Pit called ‘Carried Away’ from the man Dillon Francis. Deeming that the track is a ‘moombahton on acid’ style to it, the groove you get from the bassline is incredible, with a driving steady snare in the background, I can get down to this all day long! Check it out for yourself below!
Heard this banger last night at a party and it WENT OFF. It sounds like your typical moombahton track at first and then breaks down into some seriously bouncy electro filth. Jay Fay does work with this one. Check it out!
One of the DJs I’ve yet to see and am dying to see is Diplo, whose sound is so unique and refreshing, always reminiscent of the Caribbean where he spends much of his time, performing dance halls with his Major Lazer crew. Welp. It’s been released and is a moombahton/dancehall track that I’ve already fallen in love with. Keep it Gully below and check it out now!
If you haven’t heard of New Jersey trio Cash Cash yet, you need to right now. The group’s older works remind me a lot of Forever the Sickest Kids, but recently they’ve turned more towards the EDM production scene and WOW. These guys know what they’re doing. From moombahton to electro-house to drum and bass, legitimately every one of their tracks is an absolute banger.
One of my favorites, “Overtime” is such a feel good moombah party anthem. Uplifting melodies and electric vocals take you to a whole new level. Very reminiscent of some dance music greats…Listen to this massive track and check out some other productions on their Soundcloud! You definitely won’t regret it.
Word on the street is that Cash Cash will be working on a collaboration with Krewella very soon so you’ll want to keep an eye on them for sure. Check them out on Facebook and Twitter as well!
Trance may be the heavy theme on Thursday but here’s a little gift for all you lovers of Trap music out there. Flosstradamus unveils the newest installment in the B⚠NNED series and it is HOT. Tracklist provided below as well along with a download for the 30 minute mix for yourself!
Submitted to us recently was a sensational electro-moombahton style track from Vonzie, DJ/Producer from the Upper Westside of NYC. He’s decided to sample sounds from Aaliyah, Dillon Francis, and Mord Fustang. It definitely has its own unique quality that I enjoy, similar sounding to something like Bootleg Fireworks! Check it out for yourself and grab a download to keep.
2012 has been a huge year for electronic music. Festivals, concerts, raves spreading throughout the world have drawn in unprecedented numbers. Some say the “EDM” bubble may be on its way to bursting. Whatever that supposed “burst” will bring, it doesn’t and will not effect my love for dance music. This year for me was filled with attending everything from massive festivals all the way down to small, doing interviews, and attending small raves. I experienced a lot of great music and production and have created countless memories with some amazing people. My top 5 countdown directly reflects my taste in electronic music. I really do listen to it all. This is not an attempt to pick the overall best songs that came out this year. This is purely my favorite tracks that came over this great year. I’m all over the place with my favorites. Hope you enjoy!
5. Wellenrausch- Million Miles To Run (Phynn Remix)
To start off my countdown I have a remix that just blew me away. Phynn’s take on Wellenrausch’s Million Miles to Run takes this song to a new place. The original is gorgeous, the male vocals are perfect, but the I fell in love with this version. Will you run tonight?
4. Solidisco- Turn Around (Original Mix)
A buddy of mine introduced me to Solidisco this year and I’ve been hooked ever since. There old school disco sound is impossible not to dance to. I need to see this duo live. Turn Around is classified as “Nu-Disco” but call it what you want. It is an absolute dance floor anthem. Bust out the disco ball!
3. Paul van Dyk- I Don’t Deserve You (Seven Lions Remix)
Seven Lions is pioneering a genre. The harmonious fusion of trance and dubstep sounds dangerous, but Seven Lion is doing it and doing it well. His remix of Trance legend Paul van Dyk’s I Dont Deserve You is some of his finest remix work. He also released an EP this year the continues to amaze fans. I Don’t Deserve You!!!
2. tranzLift- Never Forget (Original Emotion Mix)
This is probably the one track on this list that viewers may have no idea what I’m talking about. tranzLift is a trance act that I discovered by tuning into Aly & Fila’s FSOE radio show. Never Forget emotion mix is one of the most uplifting trance tracks I’ve ever heard in my entire life. It’s release isn’t until 2013, but it instantly stole my heart in 2012. This is trance.
1. Knife Party- Sleaze
And number 1. This moombahton masterpiece by Knife Party was the song of my summer. Seeing Sazon Booya, Madeon, and plenty of other DJs drop this track had me hooked. The 108 BPMs has a unique feel that only moombahton can supply. It was released earlier this year, but every time it comes on, I still go nuts. Until they kick us out!
HONORABLE MENTION- Milk & Sugar- Let The Sunshine (Tocadisco Remix)
This song should be on this list as well but I dropped the ball and didn’t even think about it. This beat is unreal sexy. Tocadisco makes some of the danciest house beats out there. Perfect track right here and definitely one of my favorites from 2012.
