Cam Meekins – “Inhale” (Official Video)

Over Twitter, Cam Meekins released his official music video for single “Inhale”. Obviously Cam does not have the video production of the biggest names in rap, but that doesn’t make this video any less effective. The song itself is kinda the way Cam has been going after his mixtape “:) :/  ):” with really thoughtful lyrics that really seem to tap into some more depressing teenage subject matter, like break ups, and even suicide.

It’s that thoughtfulness and realness that has fans gravitate towards him almost as Hoodie Allen does. Cam is working on his first Studio Album, and that should definitely make some noise.

Official Music Video: “Wild for the Night” A$AP Rocky (feat. Skrillex)

ASAP-Rocky-Wild-For-The-Night-video-608x390

I think you can make a pretty good argument that A$AP Rocky and Skrillex are the strangest musical pairing on a track within the past few years. I would give anything to know if they actually like each other, or are actually friends, because these guys are literally on different ends of the spectrum musically and style-wise. However, some are really thinking this is the future of dubstep, simply existing as a medium for great beats. Regardless, take the up and coming A$AP Rocky and arguably the most commercially successful Dubstep artist in Skrillex and you are going to get a good song.

Just yesterday, the official music video was released for their track “Wild for the Night”, which was shot in some impoverished sections of the Dominican Republic with a lot of locals, especially children with machine guns and flipping off the crowd while riding motorcycles.

Honestly, it’s a decent video but there is one thing I cannot shake; how out of place does Skrillex look in this entire thing. He is the only white person in the entire video full of African-Dominicans, Latino-Dominicans, and A$AP Mob. When there is the line “riding around with my n****s” and there is a close up of Skrillex I lost it.

Basically, this video gives me a lot of questions. Is this going to inevitably hurt A$AP’s street cred? Is Skrillex entering the rap community as a viable figure?

CMB TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK!!!! What’s your opinion on this video and just A$AP and Skrillex working together in general. Leave a comment. Fuel a discussion!

ChillballPete’s Top 5 Must See Acts at ULTRA 15

ULTRA 15 is right around the corner and with a lot of CMB going, including myself, I feel it essential to write my top 5 for this massive festival. Here it goes…

Honorables: Carl Cox, Seven Lions, Phunk Investigation

Known to kill it in Miami, Fedde Le Grand is a must see on Friday. Playing in the prime time slot on Friday night on the main stage, Le Grand puts together great house sets that will keep the crowd excited for the later shows. Songs like Autosave and Put Your Hands up for Detroit show how far the guy’s made it. Rated a top 3 set last year, check him out.

Deadmau5 was MIA at last year’s Ultra so expect him to come with something special on this year’s main stage. Rumor has it the Mau5 will go “unplugged”, or unmasked and with an entirely new set than he usually plays. This would make sense after his release of <Album Title Goes Here> this past year.

This bundle of energy never ceases to amaze me. With an early set on the Ultra Buenos Aires stage, Tritonal is sure to bring a show and a half. Come with tons of energy, cause this trance team from Austin, Texas will have you moving. Expect erratic dance moves for that full hour from @TritonalChad who just looks like he’s having more fun than anyone in the crowd. I’ll match him.

Yet to see these guys in a festival setting, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano are something to wake up for Saturday morning. Unfortunately, the funky team only gets an hour long set which is a tragedy. The more time they get the better, because they have the ability to build and break and to build and break again. Let’s make due with what we have Ultra fans and show the funky tribal DJs how the Miami can party.

Too tough to narrow in on one set, I had to go with the combination on Sunday night. Above & Beyond followed by Armin van Buuren will be heavenly. No more words needed.

To everyone going, have fun and be safe! ULTRA, here we come.

Passion Pit – Carried Away (Tiesto Remix)

Passion-Pit-Carried-Away-Tiesto-Remix

So I really am not sure how this slipped through my grasp, considering trippy music videos and passion pit remixes are particular interests for me. It also helps that the person remixing the song is Tiesto

We have a remix of Passion Pit’s “Carried Away” off of Gossamer, an already good song, given that Tiesto magic. A really great song.

Also, the music video for it is ridiculous, with people basically multiplying themselves and tripping out. Pretty interesting. Definitely something to check out.

New Hoodie Allen Video featuring Chiddy Bang

Hoodie Allen’s newest music video ‘Fame is For Assholes’ dropped. This is the second music video off of Hoodie’s mixtape which is set to drop February 20th entitled Crew Cuts. The song sounds like a pop song to me but overall I enjoyed it. Chiddy and Hoodie on this track is pretty sick and Crew Cuts is defiantly gonna be a hit.  Enjoy!

TomorrowWorld: Tomorrowland GOES GLOBAL!!

So weeks ago, we were hit with the news of the idea to see an expanded worldwide edition of the legendary festival Tomorrowland held in Boom, Belgium. Though excited many people also found themselves to be hesitant, stating they felt it would be such a challenge to replicate the idea and experience that is Tomorrowland itself. After selling out 180,000 tickets in minutes to beat even the Olympics in London as the largest international gathering in the world, newly minted partners SFX and ID&T have broken the news of TomorrowWorld with this video scheduled to take place in an undisclosed location on September 27,28 and 29th. Fingers are crossed that the first installment will find its way to the United States!

(NOTE: I previously posted how this was not factual. I apologize for reporting incorrectly, as it was only rumors at the time nothing confirmed. We here at CatchMyBass try to give the best possible information with as much of the information we can, without fueling the rumor mills. We take pride in what we do and appreciate each and every comment we receive from our readers. New Lil Wayne Music Video featuring Drake and Future

lil58

Lil Wayne, Drake and Future team up to create a pretty sick video for their newest song ‘Love Me’. This song has literally been on the radio non-stop and it has become one of my favorites from Lil Wayne recently. The sound of Future is a lot different but defiantly fits with Drake’s quick verse in the chorus. Overall the video is pretty cool some skateboarding, creepy looking imagery and of course plenty of women. Enjoy!
