Outkast – “Hey Ya” (Lucky Club ’13 Rework)

Is there a more iconic song of the early 2000′s (and maybe the whole decade) than “Hey Ya” by Outkast? This song took Andre 3000 and Big Boi into the mainstream stratosphere. This is a song that has been edited and remixed time and time again, and it must take a very good remix to make it new and original again, which is exactly what Lucky Club did with their remix. It takes some deep synth to the track and make it really make a unique dance club mix. Lucky Club is a U.K. producer who is starting to make waves, especially with a song like this.

Trae Tha Truth – “I’m On” Video

Trae Tha Truth finally gives us the visuals for his Street King hit single, “I’m On.” Having released the track during the summer of 2011, the video is long overdue. Masterfully directed by Philly Fly Boy, the video features Trae Tha Truth and big names like Lupe Fiasco, Big Boi, Wale, and Wiz Khalifa spitting rhymes against backdrops of their respective cities. It serves to complement the ‘back to the roots’ message of the song and does a great job at doing so. And let’s not forget the soulful vocals of MDMA, which add even more depth to the song.  Everybody comes hard on this track—definitely hip hop at its finest!
