I happened to come across this because on of my buddies posted it on facebook. Not gonna lie, I only gave it a shot because the girl is an absolute smoke. On top of that though, it turns out shes got pipes and does some justice in turning these songs into acoustic joints. So check out the two songs below and give the girl a follow on youtube or something. Trust me, this shit is gonna go viral!
As most of you guys know, we at Catch My Bass like to introduce our fans to emerging artists from our local areas. Someone who you should definitely hear about is Wyatt Duino. He currently is in Tucson, Arizona attending the University of Arizona but is originally from California. He has a very interesting musical taste which creates a unique blend in his genre. He mixes his R&B-type vocals with a sort of Acoustic Pop-Alternative, but dabbles in some tracks that can be more Electro/Deep Bass. Essentially, he is very unique artist, one that cannot be easily defined.
As an introduction to him as an artist, we have a video of Wyatt doing an Acoustic Cover to Ne-Yo’s “So Sick”
Be sure to check back here for updates regarding his debut album, which should be available on iTunes early 2013. Also, look out for a music video and a more in-depth interview with Catch My Bass in the coming weeks.
Here is the second song released by Ellie Goulding following her amazing cover of the weeknd’s High For This which was produced by Chiddy Bang member, Xaphoon Jones. This track is entitled Hanging On and is a cover of a song by Active Child, who up until this point I had never heard of. Ellie’s voice works perfectly on the track and her version maintains the harp and light airiness that make the track so special in the first place. Ive included the live version of the song as done by Active Child so you guys can compare. I personally like the Ellie version better, but the original is impressive in its own right. My only gripe is the unnecessary Tinie Tempah verse, but whatever, hopefully if someone remixes this they will graciously cut it out : ]
So we shared the original Ellie Goulding Cover of this song with you guys the other day (check it out here) which featured her take on The Weeknd’s song, High For This, over a dope beat from Xaphoon Jones. Well now, we have a dubstep infused remix of the cover done masterfully by Patrick Reza. I dont know much about this guy, but I can say that I love this track. This love probably stems from my love of the original, how amazing I think Ellie Goulding and her voice are, the always unique beats that Xaphoon cooks up, and finally, the extra kick from Reza, making this track bang. Check it out and download it for free!
If you guys have never heard the name Bei Maejor, I dont know where you’ve been. The song writer, producer and now recording artist, is a major (pun intended) force in the music game. This guy has recieved Grammy nominations for his work, and first came to my attention last year with his piano cover of Swim Good by Frank Ocean. He is also credited with helping to write Only One and Summertime, both singles from Sam Adams. Here is his second single, Lights Down Low, featuring one of raps favorite enigmas, Waka Flocka Flame
If you haven’t heard of this kid yet you’ve better get on it. He’s been doing covers of songs for a while now and every single one is amazing. His originals are incredibly solid as well. Check out his YouTube page for more videos and download the song below to listen on the go!
Alright, so shoutout to Tim Bucher for posting this on our facebook page. This kid does a crazy rendition of Skrillex’s “Cinema” on the drums and it is insane. I wish it it had captured the audio a bit better but it’s definitely a sick cover and shows how crazy this song really is with all the hits and drops. So dirty.
