***UPDATE: Madeon has officially released the full version of “Icarus.” Head here to check out the song: Madeon – Icarus *Official Release* (2/26)***
Madeon—the French boy wonder producer—finally graces the world with the full version of his song “Icarus.” His preview of the track, which he released about 2 months ago, has since garnered much anticipation. Although “Icarus” hasn’t been released to the public yet, the full version was premiered this past Friday on the Pete Tong BBC 1 radio show, during a segment called “15 Minutes of Fame.” But I assure you CMBers, Madeon is just getting started; he is the next big thing, and is already far on his way to becoming it. “Icarus,” which will appear on Madeon’s upcoming EP, begins beautifully with a gradual buildup of starry melodies accompanied by celestial vocals. For those of you not familiar with Greek mythology, Icarus is the son of Daedalus, an extremely talented Athenian craftsman. In an attempt to escape their imprisonment on the island of Crete, Daedalus constructed wings of wax and feathers. Overcome by the sensation of flying and ignoring his father’s advice not to get too close to the sun, Icarus flew higher and higher, untill the sun had melted the wax on his wings and caused him to fall to his death. Fly toward the heavens CMBers; Madeon takes his listeners for a ride that human indulgence won’t allow you to resist.
***Sorry CMBers!! Madeon’s manager appreciated the post but wanted us to take down the download link. We are happy to oblige and we still love Madeon’s work. Keep an eye out for his upcoming EP***
