I Need Your Love – Calvin Harris featuring Ellie Goulding

So this song is amazing. Plain and simple. These are two of the hottest artists right now. Calvin Harris has been making a name for himself by working with some of the hottest acts in music right now and Ellie Goulding is just amazing, getting amped up for her album Halcyon coming out October 9th.

Just a quick preview of what is to come form Ellie and Calvin in the future

Ellie Goulding – Anything Could Happen

Ahhhhhh! Yes, finally, some more new Ellie Goulding tracks for us to enjoy. The radio around me has finally started playing Lights, but by now, that track is old news, and its safe to say that based on this single the new album is going to be dope. Co-produced by Xaphoon Jones, this track contains his signature production style as well as the soaring highs and lows of Ellies voice and her beautiful lyricism. So, take a listen, check out the sick fan inspired Instagram infused music video, and get ready for Halcyon, which comes out on October 9th!

Ellie Goulding – Hanging On (Active Child Cover)

Here is the second song released by Ellie Goulding following her amazing cover of the weeknd’s High For This which was produced by Chiddy Bang member, Xaphoon Jones. This track is entitled Hanging On and is a cover of a song by Active Child, who up until this point I had never heard of. Ellie’s voice works perfectly on the track and her version maintains the harp and light airiness that make the track so special in the first place. Ive included the live version of the song as done by Active Child so you guys can compare. I personally like the Ellie version better, but the original is impressive in its own right. My only gripe is the unnecessary Tinie Tempah verse, but whatever, hopefully if someone remixes this they will graciously cut it out : ]

Mondays are for Moombah – Lights (Swatdojo Remix)

I’m sitting here with my friend who’s watching fucking Avatar for class and he’s got the volume turned up to easily 76/100. I’ve been listening to music at high volume for the past hour or so, and thought that these next two songs went pretty fucking hard. Swatdojo does a dope mix of Goulding’s Lights and puts a killer moombah look at it.

If you like that one, give the man of the SWATDOJO some love on his original mix called Cake is Gone. This one is a pure dubstep song with a solid amount of undertone vocals and hilarious drops. Why are there dinosaurs in these movie too… and dragons, and vehicles from Halo. Fuck it, let’s party.

Ellie Goulding – High For This (PatrickReza Remix)

So we shared the original Ellie Goulding Cover of this song with you guys the other day (check it out here) which featured her take on The Weeknd’s song, High For This, over a dope beat from Xaphoon Jones. Well now, we have a dubstep infused remix of the cover done masterfully by Patrick Reza. I dont know much about this guy, but I can say that I love this track. This love probably stems from my love of the original, how amazing I think Ellie Goulding and her voice are, the always unique beats that Xaphoon cooks up, and finally, the extra kick from Reza, making this track bang. Basic Physics – The Encore (Chiddy Bang x Hardwell x Deadmau5 x Ellie Goulding)

So this isn’t the first time Catch My Bass has wrote about the amazing mash up group Basic Physics. Do yourself a favor and listen to/download their album Liftoff. You’re welcome.

Anyway, we have yet another amazing mashup putting together Chiddy Bang, Hardwell, Deadmau5, and Ellie Goulding all in Mashup harmony.

Basic Physics is a lot like other DJ/Mashup Groups; Bunch of White Guys with computers from Middle America. In this case it is Alex Syse, Dan Curme, and Eric Mitchell from Minneapolis. Doesn’t stop them from booking huge shows and getting people to rage their face off. They’ve opened for acts from Chiddy Bang to Big Gigantic. Basically, groups and singers figured out that if you want your crowd to be energized and pumped, Basic Physics are the guys to call.
