Macklemore & Ryan Lewis – Thrift Shop ft Wanz

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are back with the second single of of the upcoming album The Heist, and let me tell you, this song is dope. Now some people might not appreciate this song as much as I do, but I love shopping at thrift stores like Goodwill and Salvation Army. You can honestly find some of the coolest things for like 3 dollars. (Shout out to my cousin Steve for getting me into thrift store shopping) But really, this song perfectly encompasses Macklemore’s personality as it is quirky, off the wall, and not supposed to be taken seriously, just like And We Danced. Also, since I’ve been slacking all summer, here is the first single Mackelmore & Ryan Lewis put out, entitled Same Love ft Mary Lambert. Holy hell does this song have a strong but important message, and instead of saying it myself, just click the link to see Macklemores thoughts unedited

Enjoy the music everyone! Oh, and if someone in Seattle is going to the Mariners game on the 31st, snag me one of the dope Macklemore & Ryan Lewis snapbacks, pretty please!

Australia Update! Angus and Julia Stone

Alright, so this is super bizarre, but in my random travels around the interwebs, I happened to come across one hell of a track, that track being Take You Higher, by Goodwill & Hook N Sling. (Many thanks to the Kaskade Pandora Station)

Its got such innocent lyrics, a great beat and makes me want to dance around with no shoes on in a big field somewhere. But back to the point, after hearing this track, I needed to know more about it and why I hadn’t heard it before. Well, it turns out I’ve never heard the track because the original creators of the song, Angus and Julia Stone, a brother and sister folk acoustic duo, hail from Australia. I kind of stopped my internet travels once I googled their names and made my way to Wikipedia, but I did pick up that the original song, aptly titled Big Jet Plane, was number one in Australia for several weeks and garnered the band some ARIA awards for best Album and best adult alternative single. So you guys might as well check out the original song below. Its a real slow yet powerful song and I have a feeling that something like this would never chart in the US, but thanks to CMB, you guys get to experience it anyways. Let us know which version of the track you like best!
