Lil Wayne – Dedication 4 Mixtape, Reincarnation of Wayne?

Oh my god, this must be played, and it must be bumped.. I think this might be Lil Wayne coming back from the grave. Since Snoop changed to a Lion, and Kanye decided to fly in spaceships, maybe Wayne thought he needs to save a genre. I love this mixtape. Some songs to definitely check out: Burn, Cashed Out, So Dedicated, and Green Ranger. Please, if you have 10 minutes, throw this a download. Although it is a must listen. Please.

*I haven’t had this much fun listening to rap since.. probably Gambino last year, or maybe CH a few years ago. Enjoy.

J. Cole – “Grew Up Fast”

After having reached a new milestone of 2 million followers on Twitter, J. Cole released “Grew Up Fast” as a ‘thank you’ to his fans. His song samples “The Double Cross,” a 1969 record by former Temptations lead singer, David Ruffin. “Grew Up Fast” immediately sets the mood with Ruffin’s warm and raspy tenor vocals, before stirring some of that classic J. Cole flow into that old-school Motown soul—perfect synthesis!

“It’s only right I brought back the soul/ Y’all got way too electro, damn near techno.”
