Angel On My Shoulder – Kaskade (dBerrie Bootleg)

The man, dBerrie is back, with another fantastic bootleg. I’m extremely bitter I missed out on seeing him crush Pittsburgh for Generation Wild but I heard he put on an incredible show, and from this bootleg you can tell the kind of work he’s been doing. Reworking Kaskade’s anthem ‘Angel on my Shoulder’ is intimidating but this synthy happy go lucky feel of this track has me blasting it as the weather gets warmer. Check it out for yourself and download it to keep!

“Empty Streets Cascade” and “Eyes Reloaded” – Kaskade Mashups [FREE DOWNLOAD]

Recently I’ve been disappointed with Kaskade, especially with seeing that his recent New Years Eve show at the new nightclub Story Nightclub in Miami is set to be $400 dollars for General Admission but I must admit the man is incredible at what he does and these two mashups are just small samples of the skills he can display for a crowd. First he gives us the vocals of his track ‘Empty Streets’ over the electro house anthem owned by Tommy Trash titled ‘Cascade’:

And next we have a mashup featuring the beautiful vocals from Kaskade’s classic ‘Eyes’ mixed with Sebastian Ingrosso and Tommy Trash’s progressive anthem ‘Reload’. Download both tracks for yourself!

Kaskade Mashup Monday

Struggling to get through Monday? Well Kaskade has decided to enlighten his listeners and apologize for his abscence of late as to bring back his famous Mashup Mondays! He gives us two tracks this week so take a listen and as always a free download is provided so you can store the tracks in your library!

Fareoh – Freaks of Nature Tour Set

Fareoh has been one of my favorite up coming artists. He produces great uplifting progressive tracks such as his collab with Archie, 2012 but also has a darker electro side to his music. This past summer he was the opener on Kasade’s Freaks of Nature Tour and that really brought his name out to a national audience. As a gift he released one of his sets from this tour and it really shows how much talent he has. Be sure to keep an eye out as his meteoric rise continues.

Australia Update! Angus and Julia Stone

Alright, so this is super bizarre, but in my random travels around the interwebs, I happened to come across one hell of a track, that track being Take You Higher, by Goodwill & Hook N Sling. (Many thanks to the Kaskade Pandora Station)

Its got such innocent lyrics, a great beat and makes me want to dance around with no shoes on in a big field somewhere. But back to the point, after hearing this track, I needed to know more about it and why I hadn’t heard it before. Well, it turns out I’ve never heard the track because the original creators of the song, Angus and Julia Stone, a brother and sister folk acoustic duo, hail from Australia. I kind of stopped my internet travels once I googled their names and made my way to Wikipedia, but I did pick up that the original song, aptly titled Big Jet Plane, was number one in Australia for several weeks and garnered the band some ARIA awards for best Album and best adult alternative single. So you guys might as well check out the original song below. Its a real slow yet powerful song and I have a feeling that something like this would never chart in the US, but thanks to CMB, you guys get to experience it anyways. Let us know which version of the track you like best!

Concert Review: Kaskade’s Freak of Nature Tour @ Festival Pier, Philadelphia 6/28/12

Catch My Bass was there when Kaskade rolled into Philly for his Freaks Of Nature tour. The line up included Kap Slap, FareOh, Alvin Risk, and of course Kaskade. I showed up a little late for the show mainly because the start time on the ticket and the actual start time was off by an hour so I ended up missing Kap Slap and FareOh, but I did make perfect timing to see Alvin Risk.

Alvin Risk adding his own vocals during his set!

Now I have listened to a few of Alvin Risk’s song and have always been of fan of his crazy drops, but I could not believe the set he put on at Festival Pier. He started off as the sun was setting in Philly, rocking the stars and stripes on his jacket, and by the time the sun was down the crowd was out of control. He played an array of tracks from his amazing “Eyes” remix to an insane remix of the theme song of the Legend of Zelda. His visuals were not really anything crazy but he put on a hell of a show and even added his own live vocals at one point making his set that much better.

Right around 10pm the only thing on stage was a curtain with the silhouette of Kaskade’s signature Butterfly. The crowd was chanting “KASADE!” Then the curtain dropped and the show begin with of course “Eyes.” Overall, I have to say Kaskade put on a great show with awesome extras like smoke machines, balloon and tons of confetti. I was kind of disappointed in his visual show mainly because I have seen Deadmau5 and Skrillex live and their stages visuals are mind blowing. However, Kaskades extra effects made up for it. The one thing that really bothered me about his set was when he would play antidote from Swedish House Mafia or anything similar to that. Songs like that are played by every DJ on earth and did not make his set any better. Other than that, he played plenty of his signature tracks from his “Dynasty” album and played songs off his newer album, “Fire and Ice.” Best part of his set was when he remixed Alex Gaudino’s “I’m In Love.”

Philly knows how to RAGE!

To sum up, the whole show was unbelievable from the insane bassdrops of Alvin Risk to the bone chilling songs of Kaskade the night could not get much better. Living in Philadelphia, I have realized Philadelphia knows how to rage especially after the Freaks of Nature tour. One last note, Kaskade better step your game up because the originality of newer artists like Alvin Risk are giving you some competition. Don’t get me wrong, Kaskade was unbelievable, but the highlight of the night for me was Alvin Risk and I didn’t even expect it to be. If the Freak of Nature Tour is coming to a city near you I suggest going because its something special to see. #Rage

Great View of the Moon Featured by KASKADE!

Awhile back I did a post on my friend, Ryan Stapleton, and his band, Great View of the Moon. And today he showed me something I could not believe! Kaskade used his song for his recap video of this years Ultra Music Festival! I always thought this acoustic version of Eyes was brilliant and looks like Kaskade thought so as well. Glad to see my friends talent being recognized by one of the top 5 DJ/Producers in the world! Big things are happening for my friend, Ryan, and stick with CMB to see where here goes in the future! Be sure to catch Kaskade on his Freaks of Nature Tour this summer!

This is the official song:
