If you want to see a star in the making, please please please get on the Ariana Grande bandwagon, I know I am. Obviously, many have heard her on the radio within the past few weeks for her song with Mac Miller entitled “The Way”, which has peaked at Number 9 on the Billboard Top 100.
Last night she did her first late night performance on the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon show along with Mac Miller with The Roots as her accompanying band, which should be considered a huge complement and accomplishment.
19-year-old Ariana got her start on the Nickelodeon channel doing the show Victorious and was so well-liked that she has a spin-off show Sam & Cat that is premiering soon. However, this is not just another Nickelodeon Pop experiment. This girl has the vocals to back it up and many have no problem saying her range reminds them of a Mariah Carey-type performer. Mac Miller definitely could have had his fingerprint on a lot of young artists with his current status in the music industry, so that fact that he chose her definitely speaks to her musical ability.
Her debut album Daydreamin’ is due out late August, and she is bound to blow up, so get on the bandwagon now before there’s no room left.
A few weeks ago I brought you the preview to this massive electro anthem, and today it’s officially out on Flamingo Recordings! dBerrie’s first single in 2013, “Zenith” is a must have track that will get set any dance floor on fire.
I was fortunate enough to be a part of the crowd when Fedde Le Grand dropped this at Ultra Music Festival weekend 1! See for yourself what kind of madness it brings…
So this was my first time seeing Knife Party live and I can tell you that if you have not seen them yet, then it is an absolute priority of yours to get to their next show. The absolute unreal ability the duo of Rob Swire & Gareth McGrillen have to mix the most incredible songs into a show is phenomenal. They have the ability to just whisk you away to far-off places with their music and then drop you down into a party of nothing but BASS. From their original tracks such as “Internet Friends” and “Centipede” all the way to SHM – “Dont You Worry Child” and even Missy Elliot’s “Work It”! They just have such a talent that comes with the experience behind their work that is unmatched. My favorite part of the night came is tied between the dropping of their remix of Porter Robinson’s “Unison” track (my favorite song) and when Gareth popped a bottle of champagne on the crowd JUST as “Internet Friends” dropped. UNREAL. The crowd was so insanely excited for them to come on and they definitely did not disappoint. I would even go as far to say they BLEW AWAY my expectations. Just massive. Easily cracking my top 5 favorite artists to see live. I literally CANNOT wait to see them again and I highly recommend ALL of you go check them out asap.
p.s. More Pictures & Videos to come
Also BIG shout out to the people over at their PR department for giving us an opportunity to cover them!
So last wednesday The Excecutioner Tour rolled through Wallingford, CT pumping nothing but EPIC bass. As the crowd poured into The Dome at Oakdale (An incredible venue for this type of show) you could feel like excitement in everyones voices. Everyone was ready for a heavy dose of bass.
First up in the lineup came Vaski, hailing out of Minnesota. I can tell you right now, if people didnt know him before, they know him now. His set was absolutely phenomenal, dropping tons of dubstep bangers including his own tracks in there as well. The crowd went absolutely wild when he dropped his Darude-”Sandstorm” Remix. It was absolutely epic and I can tell you right now, I’d love to see this dude come around here again on a headlining tour of his own because he certainly knows how to get a crowd amped.
Next up camePaper Diamond hailing from Colorado. My dude knows how to mix INCREDIBLE tracks into every set and this was no exception. The crowd went wild as he dropped banger after banger. At this point the building had filled and people were here to party and Paper Diamond gave them the music needed to do just that. Bass to the face fa days. Definitely gonna have to check him out next time he comes around, definitely a solid act.
Then entered the BASSmaster, Excision himself. This tour was advertised as providing us with over “100,000 Watts of Bone Crushing Bass” and I can promise you it was that and more. Never in my life have I been at a show where the drops were able to LITERALLY take my breath away. Absolutely incredible. The stage for this show was unreal, literally no words to describe how incredible it was. Moving perfectly to the bass and synth lines as they dropped, it provided for an all around insane show. I can’t tell you how many people I heard as I walked around saying, “This show is incredible”. One of my favorite parts of the show was when Excision dropped his “X-Rated” Remix, the crowd (myself included) went WILD as that bass drop hit. Absolutely incredible in every aspect. Excision has without a doubt set an incredible high bar when it comes to Bass filled shows such as this. DEFINITELY check him and the rest of the crew on the rest of the tour if you get a chance.
Be sure to check out the rest of the SICK photos from the show on our Facebook Page!
Madeon is honestly everything I could want in a producer in 2013 and more. Always innovating and pushing the edge of his comfort zone with his tracks he’s already had a meteoric rise in 2012 I can only imagine what this year has in store for him. This is a high quality rip of a new track he played in Antwerp that is just sensational. Take a peek for yourself of this funky track and be the judge.
