2012 Year End Mashups! Part 1!

Its just about that time, no not Christmas, no not New Years, but well, technically New Years I guess, because we are about to be bombarded with a slew of best of lists as well as year end mashups. Ugh, this category of music used to be pretty good, but then people started mashing too many songs together with no real purpose. Anyways, here are the two biggest mashups so far. The first is from DJ Earworm, who started this trend of year end mixes. Not gonna lie, I think this is his best one yet. The songs actually work together, the lyrics make a real song, and the transitions are wonderful. I highly advise any fan of radio music to check this one out.

Second, we have the 2012 installment of Pop Danthology, which bold informs us that it mashed up 50+ pop songs. Geez, 50+, really, and this thing is 8 minutes long? This song is a perfect example of why mashups get a bad name. One, its too long, like way too long. Also, it just doesnt sound like the same song throughout, just a bunch of minimashups strung together to make a huge one. Its not to say that this mix doesnt have its moments, but it isnt a stunning as Earworms.

If you liked these mashups, be sure to check back for Part 2, some time later this week as we highlight some of the mashups from lesser known djs. Unless the world ends and all that shit, then yah know, we’ll be dead.

Halo 4 – Green & Blue (KOAN Sound Remix)

Alright, so as y’all may or may not know, the latest release in the legendary Halo series came out this week and it was met wit stellar reviews. This track is part of the soundtrack that expands upon the music found within the game itself. Now I know some of you have played this game fully already (myself included) and you know this track fits in beautifully with this game. It truly is an amazing, eloquent, absolutely beautiful song that I promise is a MUST LISTEN. Even if you dont like Halo at all, you need to check this. Oh and as always, Rage on my friends. #MasterChief4prez #CortanaIsAbabe

Ed Sheeran – Give Me Love [Official Video]

Ed Sheeran has been one of my favorite artists this year and after finally releasing his debut album “+” he is blowing up! The amount of talent this guy has is ridiculous and is finally getting the attention he deserves. Today he released his music video to his hit track “Give Me Love.” This vid gives some great visuals to an incredible song. Check it out!

Ellie Goulding – Anything Could Happen

Ahhhhhh! Yes, finally, some more new Ellie Goulding tracks for us to enjoy. The radio around me has finally started playing Lights, but by now, that track is old news, and its safe to say that based on this single the new album is going to be dope. Co-produced by Xaphoon Jones, this track contains his signature production style as well as the soaring highs and lows of Ellies voice and her beautiful lyricism. So, take a listen, check out the sick fan inspired Instagram infused music video, and get ready for Halcyon, which comes out on October 9th!

Lonsdale Boys Club – Light Me Up (Document One Remix)

Ladies and Gentlemen, say hello to one of my top dubstep producers in the game right now. Document One always has such sexy drops and seems to pull the most unheard of songs to remix. Yet he always delivers a solid track. This one is no exception. The bass line coupled with the vocals and synth definitely make for an interesting, yet bumpin track. Download, jam out, and rage the fuck on my friends.

501-Chasing Stars

Ladies and gentleman, it’s my pleasure to say that Dr. Rage is back and ready to blow your minds with some epic beats you may have otherwise never found. My first post back comes from 501, an awesome electro dubstep project which is sure to pump out hits for a while. The track is called chasing stars, it bumps, its funky, it has sexy synth, and most of all, the bass just oozes from its kickline. Download, enjoy, and as always Rage On my friends. Plenty more to come ;)
