The Drop Episode 50 Celebration (Guest Mixes from Leon Bolier, Lazy Rich, Maor Levi, Gabriel & Dresden)

For those of you unaware of the radio show called “The drop” I highly recommend you begin to tune into their weekly podcast. Every week, hosts mass7 (Matan Segal) and 15 Step (Brett Schupack) carefully and masterfully combine the hottest progressive, electro, dubstep, and house choons together for our listening pleasure while informing the Philly, dC, and NYC area of the latest shows, reviews, and latest news from the electronic music industry. I love the podcast and the effort the guys put into it and tune in as often as possible. This past week, they were lucky enough to celebrate their 50th episode with massive guest mixes from Leon Bolier, Lazy Rich, Maor Levi, Gabriel and dresden and a 50th episode mix from mass7 to end out the week long celebrations. Congratulations on the amazing show boys, can’t wait to see what the future holds in store. We’ve got all of their sets here to listen, along with download links for them. If you love them as much as we do give them a like on Facebook, follow them on Twitter, and subscribe to their podcast on iTunes!

Artist Profile: Atlas

CMB is here again to introduce you to some local talent in the Philadephia area. He goes by the name Atlas and I recently got to see him perform last weekend. Originally I planned on seeing Zeds Dead that night at the Electric Factory, however an all age event and drugs involved called for disaster. Not gonna lie I thought I was gonna call it a night, but lucky Pure Productions was throwing down at a sweet underground place here in Philly called Verre.

Anyways the night turned out to be a crazy night with different DJs getting their turn to spin till the early morning. One DJ that I was digging was Atlas. His song selection was very nicely done, staying away from just top 20. One thing that I really enjoyed about Atlas was the energy he brought to the crowd. You would of thought people would of slowed down at about 3:30, but Altas had everyone going right till the end of the night and even played an extra song at the crowds demand.

To give you alittle background on Atlas, he has only been DJing for about two years now and started producing about the same time as well. Having been a casual musician his entire life, when his friend showed him some basics of DJing, he took off with it and now has a few works of his own. When I asked Atlas what are some artists that has inspired his work, he said “The first ones that come to mind aren’t very apparent in the music I’ve released so far, Amon Tobin, Brian Eno, Philip Glass. But also Diplo, Swedish House Mafia, and Kanye West among countless others.”

For a night that could of ended at about 10pm, it ended in the early morning and I got to hear some new and crazy talent. If you ever get the chance go to an underground warehouse rave, thats where the party really is at. Check out some of the tracks below by Atlas (yes there free to download)  and be sure to check out Atlas on Facebook and Soundcloud!
